February 14th 2018: Following the success of Listen to Britain 2017, Wingpsan, BBC and BFI call out for Britain's best new animation talent.

February 13th 2018: Maria Krall Fry ('Silent Roars') and Ruth Grimberg ('Learning to Swim') are announced as among the six shortlisted debut directors nominated for the Edinburgh TV Festival Debbie Awards celebrating emerging directors who made their broadcast debut in 2017.

On Tuesday 19th September 12 short documentaries executive produced by Wingspan Productions premiered in NFT1 at BFI Southbank, ahead of transmission on BBC Four on 24th Sept in a special evening of programming introduced by Oscar winning director, Kevin Macdonald.

June 20th 2017. The BBC announced today that, following a competitive pitch process, Wingspan is one of three companies selected to make bundles of films for the next two series of Horizon. Tom McDonald, Head of Commissioning, Natural History and Specialist Factual at the BBC said “BBC Studios, Wingspan Productions and Windfall Films are three of the best Science suppliers currently operating in the UK. Their ideas are original, exciting and bold.”

We're deeply saddened that our friend and colleague, Hans Rosling, has died.

The original Listen to Britain was aimed at boosting morale during WWII and galvanising global support for the UK.  Directed and edited by Humphrey Jennings and Stuart McAllister it pioneered a new form of documentary filmmaking, engaging audiences in a way never seen before.
