'Animation 2018' film 'Meteorlight' wins two top prizes

December 2018:  Jonny Eveson's unforgettable film 'Meteorlight' - part of Wingspan, the BBC and the BFI's Animation 2018 initiative - won two prizes at the London International Short Film Festival.  The epic sci-fi animation triumphed in both the Best UK Animated Short category and the overall prize of Best UK Short.

February 27th 2018: Maia Krall Fry ('Silent Roars') emerged with the Best Director award at the inaugural Edinburgh TV Festival Debbie Awards, established to recognise new talent who made their broadcast debut in 2017. She beat tough competition including fellow Listen to Britain 2017 filmmaker, Ruth Grinberg.

Wingspan to produce episodes of BBC flagship science strand Horizon

June 20th 2017. The BBC announced today that, following a competitive pitch process, Wingspan is one of three companies selected to make bundles of films for the next two series of Horizon. Tom McDonald, Head of Commissioning, Natural History and Specialist Factual at the BBC said “BBC Studios, Wingspan Productions and Windfall Films are three of the best Science suppliers currently operating in the UK. Their ideas are original, exciting and bold.”
